Alyssa Viscione is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who embodies a strengths-based and patient-centered approach when working with clients. Alyssa’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and draws on multiple evidence based modalities.    

She specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults presenting with symptoms of a wide range of mental health diagnoses such as Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Depressive Disorders. She is skilled in treating issues related to life transitions, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, relationship conflicts, grief and loss, stress management, parenting, and self-esteem. Utilizing a holistic and integrative approach, Alyssa is committed to creating a nonjudgemental and safe space for clients to facilitate self-exploration and personal growth. Alyssa’s warm and down-to-earth approach to therapy enables clients to comfortably be their authentic selves in the therapeutic relationship. She is dedicated to collaborating with and empowering clients through each step of the healing journey.   

Alyssa graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Social Services from Monmouth University. Alyssa’s independent undergraduate research study and thesis focused on the impact of parental conflict and parental divorce on children. After she obtained her bachelor’s degree, Alyssa received her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Clinical Practice with Families and Children from Monmouth University..   

Alyssa has obtained training in a variety of treatment modalities which includes but is not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and Play Therapy techniques. Alyssa has experience working with clients within outpatient mental health settings, victim services programs, forensic social work settings, and partial care psychiatric programs.  

Although Alyssa is a native of Staten Island, New York, she now enjoys spending her free time on the beaches of the Jersey Shore and taking walks on the boardwalk. She also loves cooking Italian recipes taught to her by her mother and trying out new restaurants with her friends and family.
